Why Do People Take Long Showers

jPod

David Hockney just likes to portray people he knows well, his friends, lovers, partners and familares.

The Art Museum of Los Angeles County (LACMA) has organized the first exhibition devoted solely to Hockney's portrait.

Using the model more accessible, in his self-portraits is representing himself in his studio, painting with their models, paying homage to his beloved Picasso ...

When he paints others, Hockney's portraits show the relationship and changing through the years between artist and model. For example in Pictures from their parents and especially those of his mother, Laura. These pictures speak volumes about Hockney's relationship with his parents, who supported him in his artistic vocation from the beginning. The patient's mother was a model who posed for many hours Hockney and was portrayed by the artist almost until his death.
