jPod, Douglas Coupland
Editorial El Aleph
Jarlewski Ethan and his five co-workers form the jPod, a group of game developers under the guidance of a multinational absurd. Unable to rebel and limited by the logical and mathematical language of computers, workers sacrifice their private lives by good of the corporation. Contact with the outside world characters, including himself Coupland is the mother of the protagonist (a ruthless "Black Widow", drug dealer), presents an overview amoral man, condemned to ignorance and with a questionable ability redemption.
Through prose frantic, funny and tinged with irony, Coupland takes us into the world of a pathetic group of characters who define themselves as "depressing compendium of pop culture and repressed emotions whose lives are controlled by the banal form of capitalism ", or " people who live perpetually concerned about the possibility to become obsolete ".
