Is this a new and secular era? For those who have experienced liver becoming George W. Bush certainly yes. But I think you must think 2 times before firing in raging cacophony with 43 fourth president to use if ever bothered them was his supposed religious fanaticism. If acaso era así, con Barack Obama muy difícilmente habrán de sentirse contentos.
Del discurso inaugural del Obamesías (extractos vía Etimologías ):
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture , the time has come to set aside childish things . The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness. Two clear invocations to God as well as the (Holy) Scriptures, plus "God bless" ( God's grace upon us ) at the end.
(...)
What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - to Recognition, on the part of Every American, That We Have Duties to ourselves, Our nation, and the world, Duties That We Do Not grudgingly accept gladly seize But Rather, firm in the Knowledge That There is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of Our Character, Our Than Giving all to a Difficult task. This is the price and the promise of citizenship. This is the source of Our confidence - The Knowledge That God calls on us to shape an Uncertain destiny.
I imagine they will say that Bush went further and spoke to a prophet of the Most High. But it turns out, at least in their inaugural speeches and 2001 2005 , not mention God more than 3 times per event, including an appointment (to Lincoln) and 3 end God bless.
And if we are to review their famous speeches such as the "war on terror" or famous speech about the "axis of evil" ( State of the Union, 2002), Bush with just called on God ... in the farewell.
Where do you Mr. Danger was a fundamentalist religious fanatic? Surely mentions God or quoted verbatim the Bible in other languages \u200b\u200b(I do not know), but at least he did not walk the momentous bibliazos giving his audience as many imagine maliciously.
Now back to Obama, not about the brand 44th president may be more theocon Bush. But if religion is what will become of him if you apply the same yardstick as his predecessor?
